All artists experience creative ebb and flow. But what factors bring about artistic stagnation? And what circumstances lead to creative flow? Are artists truly at the mercy of some uncontrollable creative energy? Even the most stuck artist is, we believe, one image, word, or idea away from a creative explosion. With this in mind, we created The Abelian Art Project: an online game of multimedia telephone in which artists transform images into text, and text into images. The Abelian Art Project exists for whatever purpose(s) artists deem it valuable. Whether it’s the challenge of responding to different media or the thrill in having your work serve as a launching pad for other artists, we ask only that you help us develop the project by submitting your work and/or sharing the site with others. |
